Signed on the Mother Road

A Route 66 Polaroid Archive

Created during a continuous journey along Route 66, this series documents spontaneous encounters with individuals who inhabit and sustain the road. Each Polaroid was signed at the moment of capture, embedding the subject’s presence directly into the object. The resulting images exist as both portrait and artifact - traces of connection, place and time along an enduring cultural landscape.

This body of work opened in mid-May 2026 as the Route 66 Centennial featured exhibition at the National Route 66 Museum in Elk City, Oklahoma.
